Deepfakes. Death threats. Online abuse. And still, women journalists keep showing up.This Women's Month, we handed the mic to some of South Africa's fiercest women journalists, the ones holding the corrupt and the criminal to account, and asked them what it actually costs.

But here's the thing, none of them claim to be fearless. They show up scared and do it anyway. Because democracy depends on people willing to stand in the light, faces on camera, names in the bylines.

Zoe unpacks the sexism baked into our politics, the Big Tech platforms are missing in action, and the police are still stuck in the analogue era while the threats get more 21st-century by the day.

To every woman in media: keep owning the spotlight, and shining light where it's needed. 💜
